Defence Sales In The West Of England
EDM number 588 in 1996-97, proposed by John Cope on 26/02/1997.
That this House welcomes the recent defence procurement announcements from the Ministry of Defence, which have secured jobs in the West of England, both directly and through their export potential, including Eurofighter, Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Future Large Aircraft, Storm Shadow Stand-Off Missile and the Apache, EH 101 and Merlin helicopters; and recognises that previous incoming Labour governments have cancelled important defence orders, that labour plans a defence cuts review and that many Labour honourable Members openly oppose all defence export sales.
This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
