Manic Street Preachers
EDM number 580 in 1996-97, proposed by Peter Hain on 25/02/1997.
That this House congratulates the Manic Street Preachers for winning the Best British Group and Best Album awards at the Brit Awards, noting that this reflects the fact that Welsh rock music is now top of the pops with many other successful and prominent Welsh groups; and also congratulates the Manic Street Preachers for their robust defence of comprehensive education and their attack on divisive Government education policy.
This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
