Industrial Fishing And The Indermediate Ministerial Meeting
EDM number 553 in 1996-97, proposed by Bill Walker on 18/02/1997.
That this House believes that the Government is allowing the European Union, in the current Intermediate Ministerial Meeting (IMM97), of the North Sea Conference, to prevent ministers protecting the United Kingdom's fishing interests in the North Sea; and further believes that because of this the United Kingdom will not be able to protect fish stocks and their associated habitats, especially in relation to the unregulated and unsustainable industrial fishing that is decimating British white fish stocks and other wildlife.
This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
