That this House calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to discard the 'preferred list' of persons selected for future appointments by the defunct Trent Authority by procedures falling outside the standards of the Code of Practice for Public Appointments and in contempt of the Nolan Report objectives and to introduce appointments which are open democratic, representative and above all honest.
