Government Policy On Crime

EDM number 40 in 1996-97, proposed by Tom Cox on 23/10/1996.

That this House deplores recent speeches of the Home Secretar y on crime as any independent examination of the last 15 years will show the Government has consistently stood aside and allowed major fraudsters and criminals to go virtually unpunished whilst the poor are equally consistently imprisoned for minor debt.
