That this House if gravely concerned about British Coal's decision to continue litigation despite having lost a case in the High Court, confirmed in the Appeal Court, which may make it liable for damages to coal miners from exposure to vibration white finger (VWF) which took place after 1975; and calls on British Coal and its backers at the Department of Trade and Industry to introduce a no-fault liability scheme settlement of VWF claims.
