delete from `House to end and add `notes that details of all the measures, to simplify war pensions were sent out on Budget Day to all members of the Central Advisory Committee on War Pensions, including the Labour and Liberal representatives on that committee, Alan Meale MP and Lord Mackie, neither of whom expressed any concerns nor thought it necessary to attend the meeting of the Central Advisory Council to discuss these matters on Thursday 5 December; and notes that in a press release on Friday 6 December the British Legion said, "there is nothing induly confrontational in the paper to cause concern among the ex-service organisations at this stage."
