Death Of Edward Walsh

That this House calls for an immediate public inquiry into the death of Edward Walsh, an Irish citizen, in London in 1985, and the exhumation of his body, to re-examine the circumstances surrounding this case, including: the refusal of the authorities to permit Mr Walsh's brother to identify the body, the failure to notify him of the date of the inquest and the date of the murder trial which followed, the uncertainty about the time of his death and the names of the doctors who certified it, the fact that the defence solicitors who requested a second post-mortem for the murder trial did not exist the conduct of the prosecution during the trial of the man accused of his murder, and the whereabouts of documents relating to the trial to which the family should have access and the police reports.
