EDM number 286 in 1996-97, proposed by Tony Benn on 03/12/1996.
That this House congratulates all those who have contributed to a settlement of the industrial dispute in France under which lorry drivers were awarded higher wages, shorter working hours, better safety standards and retirement at 55 years; and would warmly welcome much closer co-operation to achieve these objectives in every nation in Europe.
