Listing Of Brazilian Mahogany

EDM number 246 in 1996-97, proposed by Alan Meale on 26/11/1996.

That this House expresses its concern about the environmental and social impact of the trade in Brazilian mahogany in the United Kingdom; notes that mahogany from this source continues to enter Britain from sustainable and legal sources; and calls again on Her Majesty's Government to fully support the listing of Brazilian mahogany under the relevant European Union Cites Regulations which would allow the introduction of a zero quota on this product.
