Conservenergy Week

That this House notes that 25th to 29th November marks the sixth Conservenergy Week; notes that one third of Scotland's households are suffering from fuel poverty and that the poorest households are most in need of energy efficient homes; believes that Conservenergy Week helps to raise awareness among low-income households that practical assistance is available through grant-aided energy saving schemes such as the home energy efficiency scheme; regrets the difficulties of deliverying home energy efficiency scheme in some remote rural areas; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to increase investment to tackle the problems of the fuel poor and to introduce an additional supplement for island residents.
