Out Of Sight - Out Of Work Campaign

EDM number 231 in 1996-97, proposed by Emma Nicholson on 21/11/1996.

That this House deplores the fact that an estimated 75 per cent. of blind and partially sighted people of working age are unemployed; believes that there should be a level playing field in the job market for visually impaired people; and welcomes the setting up of the Out of Sight-Out of Work campaign, which aims to find secure employment for blind and partially sighted people in order that they can take their rightful place in the world of work.
