Hillingdon Hospital Cleaners

EDM number 23 in 1996-97, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 23/10/1996.

That this House congratulates the Hillingdon Hospital strikers on pursuing their just dispute for over a year; is appalled that the Pall Mall Group is continuing to make enormous profits from contact cleaning; is disgusted that those profits are made by forcing loyal NHS workers to accept lower wages and worse conditions; and therefore calls for an end to contract cleaning in the NHS and employment of contract workers by the NHS on nationally agreed conditions.
