LABOUR PARTY'S TAX POLICY

EDM number 215 in 1996-97, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 19/11/1996.

That this House notes the on-the-record statement by Labour's campaign organiser at the Democracy and Multimedia Forum at the Institute of Civil Engineers on Tuesday 19th November, that the promised increase in company taxation will only hit privatised companies purchased from the state by pension funds, insurance companies and private shareholders, and so will not affect utilities or other companies that were never nationalised.
