Ending Of Reduced Earnings Allowances
EDM number 155 in 1996-97, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 06/11/1996.
That this House registers its absolute dismay at the manner in which people who had been promised, in writing, that they would receive reduced earnings allowance until a specific future date, have had the allowance withdrawn from them prior to that date despite there being no change whatsoever in their personal circumstances; regards such action as absolutely deplorable; and calls on the Government to reverse its policy on this matter so as to keep their promises to these people.
