Haemophillia And Hepatitis

That this House is alarmed by the statement made by the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State of Health who said that it would not be appropriate to offer financial compensation to haemophiliacs infected with Hepatitis C as to provide compensation on the basis of non-negligent harm would develop into a general no-fault compensation scheme: recalls that these sufferers were infected whilst receiving treatment on the NHS and because of this Her Majesty's Government has a moral duty to provide assistance; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to review this decision and devise a no-fault settlement for sufferers of this disease.
