Firework Safety (Sales To Under 16s)

That this House, in welcoming the firework safety campaign being mounted in the run-up to 5th November, is nevertheless concerned that having repealed the Firework Safety Regulations, the Government's zeal for deregulation has left a confused situation on enforcing the law prohibiting the sale of fireworks to under 16s; notes that trading standards departments have voiced their concern about this to Ministers; and calls on the Government to introduce clear regulations confirming the authority of all trading standards offices to enforce the law in this area.
