Reduced Earnings Allowance
EDM number 108 in 1996-97, proposed by Alan Meale on 30/10/1996.
That this House condemns the decision of Her Majesty's Government to introduce limitations on the payment of reduced earnings allowances to people who had to give up their regular employment through industrial injury because they had attained state pension age since April 1989; cannot condone such a policy which has resulted in a 75 per cent. cut in allowances for all those affected; and calls upon the Government to immediately reinstate such benefits without delay.
This motion has been signed by a total of 59 MPs.
