That this House expresses grave concern at the arrest of senior Banking trade union officials in Pakistan, including Abdul Aziz Memon, a member of the National Assembly and Chairman of the United Group of management employees and seven other prominent trade union leaders in the United Bank of Pakistan; notes that Mr Memon, a parliamentarian has been stripped of his immunity without the consent of the Speaker; and calls for their immediate release and the restoration of all basic trade union rights which are essential for a democratic society.
