Overseas Nationals In The United Kingdom
EDM number 958 in 1995-96, proposed by Roy Beggs on 06/06/1996.
That this House recommends that Her Majesty's Government introduces such legislation as is necessary to ensure that overseas nationals who have been granted asylum and permission to remain in the United Kingdom retain that privilege only on condition that they do not engage in any activity from a base within the United Kingdom which causes damage to British interests overseas, puts at risk the employment of British workers at home and abroad or damages the prospects of British companies seeking to negotiate contracts with nations which have a friendly disposition towards the United Kingdom.
