Peace Train Organisation

EDM number 950 in 1995-96, proposed by Harry Barnes on 05/06/1996.

That this House warmly welcomes the visit of the Irish Peace Train Organisation to Westminster to relay the message that, without an IRA ceasefire, Sinn Fein remains excluded from the talks scheduled for 10th June; calls, in line with the Mitchell Report, for an immediate end to all so-called punishment beatings, the exile of people from their homes by paramilitary organisations and for the release of the details of the whereabouts of the disappeared - those murdered and concealed by the Provisional IRA; notes that the Peace Train will pass on books of condolence, collected at the massive white ribbon peace rallies in February for the relatives of the victims of Canary Wharf; and salutes the continuing efforts of the Peace Train Organisation.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
