Religious Education And Honourable Member For Bath
EDM number 715 in 1995-96, proposed by Malcolm Thornton on 02/04/1996.
That this House condemns the fierce and ill-considered attack on religious education by the honourable Member for Bath when, on behalf of the Liberal Democrats, he said that in an ideal world there would be no religious state schools and that his party would put a stop to daily acts of worship; and believes that the closure of all Anglican, Catholic and other religious schools would be an unmitigated disaster for both the culture and education system of the United Kingdom.
This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
