That this House notes with approval the research lately published in the British Medical Journal indicating that regular moderate consumption of alcohol including beer provides significant protection against heart attacks and in particular against the dangers of the cholesteral known as LDL; raises a glass to the excellent work of the scientists responsible for this research; and exhorts the Government to recognise and promote the health giving properties of the United Kingdom's great traditional beverage, beer.
