Bank Of England Regional Branches
EDM number 679 in 1995-96, proposed by Jean Corston on 27/03/1996.
That this House considers that the regional branches of the Bank of England fulfil a major function in note sorting, note distribution, verification of the currency in the face of increasingly sophisticated forgery, and in underpinning regional economies; and therefore urges the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Governor of the Bank of England not to withdraw any of the services currently available in the regional branches.
