Conduct Of The Hon Member For Teignbridge
EDM number 620 in 1995-96, proposed by Glenda Jackson on 14/03/1996.
That this House, noting that the honourable Member for Teignbridge has a pecuniary interest as a parliamentary consultant to Howard de Walden Estates Ltd., and has on previous occasions spoken in this House against leasehold reform, deplores his conduct in speaking and intervening repeatedly with no good purpose in the debate on 8th March on the Treasure Bill, the effect of which was to deny sufficient time to allow the Leasehold (Reform) Bill, due to be debated later that day, to receive a Second Reading; notes that he failed to declare his interest in the process; and calls on the Commissioner for Parliamentary Standards to investigate the honourable Member's conduct.
This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
