Charlton Athletic And The "kick Racism Out Of Football" Campaign

That this House congratulates Greenwich Council and Charlton Athletic Football Club on their contribution to the campaign Kick Racism out of Football; welcomes the report of the in-depth study, conducted through schools within the London Borough of Greenwich, of actual or potential barriers which prevent young people from Black and other minority ethnic communities attending professional football matches; notes that the study was commissioned by the Charlton Athletic Red, White and Black football partnership; notes that the project was undertaken to further the anti-racist and other equal opportunity objectives of the partnership, which comprises Charlton Athletic Football Club, its Supporters' Club, the local black communities, the University of Greenwich, Greenwich Police Divison, Greenwich Safer Cities Project and the London Borough of Greenwich; thanks all those organisations which made the study possible; and believes the report will assist similar endeavours elsewhere in the country which aim to free football of racial abuse, violence and other anti-social behaviour.
