Deregulation Of Supervised Activities And Holiday Play Schemes In Scotland

EDM number 529 in 1995-96, proposed by Ray Michie on 28/02/1996.

That this House is concerned that Government plans to relax the regulation of supervised activities and holiday playschemes used by children under the age of eight years; notes that the new regulations will exempt playschemes operating for up to 60 days a year, instead of six days, from police checks and registration; expresses concern that the proposals may leave young children in services where there are no effective minimum standards or even basic checks; and believes that these proposed regulations should be dropped.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
