Cold Weather Payments (No. 2)

That this House is deeply concerned that the system for determining cold weather payments for Derbyshire has to date cost some 40,000 pensioner, sick and disabled claimants ú800,000 in lost payments due to local temperatures being assessed by in appropriate regional meteorological offices; is aware that inaccurate forms of meteorological temperature assessments have adversely affected many other claimants throughout the United Kingdom; and supports the campaign of Derbyshire County Council for a complete review of the cold weather assessment system to prevent such future injustices.
