Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (No. 2)

EDM number 470 in 1995-96, proposed by Harry Greenway on 21/02/1996.

That this House recognises the unique contribution of the home energy efficiency scheme in bringing social, economic, environmental and employment benefits; acknowledges the assistance which the scheme has provided to over one million low-income and elderly households in the past four years; greatly regrets the reduction in planned expenditure which will reduce the number of homes insulated from 600,000 to 400,000 annually; and calls on the Government to continue and renew its support and commitment to this valuable scheme.
