Danny Mcnamee
EDM number 446 in 1995-96, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 16/02/1996.
That this House deplores the oppressive conditions set by the Home Secretary for a proposed visit by the honourable Member for Islington North to Irish prisoner Danny McNamee, currently held at HMP Belmarsh; notes that there exists compelling evidence supporting Danny McNamee's pleas of innocence of the crime for which he was convicted; notes that the Home Secretary has instructed he may only receive an honourable Member's visit to discuss this evidence if he is separated behind thick plate glass; and urges the Home Secretary to lift these inhumane restrictions on a democratically elected Member of Parliament consulting with a prisoner protesting his innocence.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
