Increases In Prescription Charges
EDM number 406 in 1995-96, proposed by Ann Clwyd on 08/02/1996.
That this House condemns the Government for increasing prescription charges 18 times since 1979; notes that today's increases now stand at nearly 10 times the level they were under the last Labour Government in real terms and over 27 times in cash terms; and believes that by choosing to make the an nouncement through a written parliamentary answer without debate, the Government has been shown in its true colours and has revealed its attitude towards the most vulnerable people who through no fault of their own require medicines for their illness.
This motion has been signed by a total of 59 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
