That this House notes with concern British Coal's decision to close the Industrial Death and Retirement Fund without consulting its former employees who paid into it; condemns British Coal's decision to appropriate the Fund's assets valued at almost ú2 million; deplores British Coal's refusal to shar e either the assets or the interest made since the fund closed amongst people who paid into it; and urges British Coal properly to distribute the assets and the interest amongst people who paid into the Fund and to beneficiaries where the contributors are no longer living, and to social, recreational and regeneration projects which will benefit Britian's former coal mining communities.
