European Union Publicity Campaign On Single Currency

EDM number 321 in 1995-96, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 22/01/1996.

That this House congratulates Her Majesty's Government on securing exemption for the United Kingdom from the publicity campaign on the single currency; nevertheless regrets that the United Kingdom taxpayer will still be required to pay a share of the cost of the campaign in other member states; and considers that the EU should give substantial prominence in its campaign to the arguments advanced by Mr. Bernard Connolly, who explains in such detail in his recent publication why the single currency plans will lead inevitably to mass unemployment in the European Union.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
