Christopher Searle;amdt. Line 8:

EDM number 284A1 in 1995-96, proposed by Clive Betts on 17/01/1996.

leave out from `areas' to end and add `and notes that Sheffield Education Authority had no option than to replace him as the Head Teacher of Earl Marshal Comprehensive School because of the appalling and worsening examination results of the school, where only six per cent. of the pupils gained five or more GCSEs, and the unacceptably high level of truancy , among the worst in the country, which together created a situation where children at the school were being disadvantaged in their educational opportunities; recognises that strong and public support of the school's largest trade union the NAS/UWT for the actions of the education authority; and offers its best wishes to Mr Roy Spooner, the acting head, in his declared intention to improve educational performance and attendance levels while maintaining the best aspects of community and social harmony which the school has consistently fostered.'.

This is a ammendment to 284.
