CONDUCT OF PROFESSOR AL MASS'ARI
EDM number 276 in 1995-96, proposed by Neville Trotter on 15/01/1996.
That this House believes Professor Al Mass'ari has abused his position whilst a guest in this country seeking political asylum; notes the courageous role of Saudia Arabia in the Gulf War as an ally of the United Kingdom; notes that Saudia Arabia is a vital market for British goods worth ú1.5 billion in 1994 and in turn supports thousands of jobs in the United Kingdom, in the North of England in particular; and congratulates the Home Secretary on preserving good diplomatic and commercial relations with Saudi Arabia and in doing so protecting the economic and strategic interests on the United Kingdom.
