Millennium Commission Membership

EDM number 259 in 1995-96, proposed by Ken Purchase on 10/01/1996.

That this House is alarmed that two thirds of the MillenniumCommission membership has London ties and believes this will be to the disadvantage of the Regions; is appalled that the Prime Minister appears to have thrown his weight behind the Greenwich bid to stage the Millennium Exhibition; and therefore calls on the Government to re-constitute the Commission with a fairer regional balance of members and to desist from further partiality.
