Accident And Emergency Facilities On Merseyside
EDM number 255 in 1995-96, proposed by Edward O'Hara on 10/01/1996.
That this House is concerned to see misgivings about the rationalisation of accident and emergency departments on Merseyside being borne out by the increasing number of cases whereby patients are made to wait up to 12 hours for beds, and ambulances are turned away, often to hospitals beyond Merseyside and too remote for family visiting; and demands that resources be made available in order to staff the facilities which could be made immediately available for four resuscitation beds at the Broadgreen Hospital site, and for the full complement of eight beds at Whiston Hospital from April 1996.
This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
