Land Rover
EDM number 253 in 1995-96, proposed by Andrew Hargreaves on 09/01/1996.
That this House congratulates the Rover Group, Land-Rover and Marshalls of Cambridge on their conspicuous success in export markets as well as in the domestic market; and urges the Government to enable these companies to maintain and build on their success by recognising the quality, durability, serviceability and cost effectiveness of the Land-Rover XD 130/Marshall SPV Ambulance in preference to the Austro-Korean, non-NATO, Steyr-Daewoo contender for the Army Ambulance replacement order, whose vehicle is more expensive, offers no commonality with the United Kingdom military fleet and no consistency of supply in terms of emergency.
