Labour Party And The Budget

EDM number 187 in 1995-96, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 07/12/1995.

That this House regrets the failure of the Labour Party on 5th December to follow the logic of either of their own arguments concerning the Budget by opposing the reduction in the standard rate of income tax; notes that both support for adequate funding of public services or for concentratingany tax reductions among lower paid workers imply a rejection of the Chancellor's cut in the standard rate; and applauds the action of the 10 Labour honourable Members who acted in a manner consistent with their principles by joining other parties in voting against the Government.

This motion has been signed by a total of 3 MPs.
