That this House, while understanding the reasons behind Granada Television's decision to move the production of This Morning from Liverpool to London, nevertheless calls upon Granada to maintain Liverpool as a crucial centre for the production of television programmes; recognises that through the employment of 1,200 personnel within the region Granada has a central role in promoting and sustaining the identity and culture of the North West; and urges Her Majesty's Government to use the new Broadcasting Bill to strengthen diversity and regional production.
