England Cricket Team (No. 2)
EDM number 158 in 1995-96, proposed by Nigel Jones on 05/12/1995.
That this House congratulates the England Cricket Captain Mike Atherton and the rest of the England team for their performance in saving the second Test against South Africa; particularly congratulates Gloucestershire wicket-keeper Jack Russell for his magnificent achievement in breaking the record for the most number of catches in a test match and for his staunch defence against the South African bowlers in the second innings; and wonders, not for the first time, why he was ever dropped from the England team in the first place.
This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
