Telecommunication Masts
EDM number 1252 in 1995-96, proposed by Matthew Taylor on 15/10/1996.
That this House calls on the Government to revise the planning policy guidance on telecommunication developments to require that all new telecommunication masts will require express planning permission, to emphasise the need to minimise the environmental impact of telecommunications development, to remove the bias in favour of the telecommunications industry and that new masts should only be considered as a last resort, and that they should not normally be acceptable in or on the edge of areas of outstanding or natural beauty, sites of special scientific interest, or national parks.
