Motability
EDM number 1217 in 1995-96, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 24/07/1996.
That this House recognises that 250,000 people are now leasing or buying a vehicle through Motability schemes using the higher rate mobility component of the disability living allowance and the war pensions mobility supplement to obtain personal transport at favourable terms; notes Sir John Bourn's National Audit Office report to Parliament that the Motability scheme offers good value for money to disabled people, welcomes the conclusion by the National Audit Office that it could find no evidence of any conflict of interest adversely affecting the charity; and thanks the founders, governors and supporters of Motability for their achievements.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
