Payments To Nhs Non Executive Directors

EDM number 1168 in 1995-96, proposed by Martin Redmond on 16/07/1996.

That this House calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to reject demands to pay non-executive directors sums in excess of the present ú5,000; believes that the present system is extensively abused as exampled by the number of health authority and family health services authorities who were paid and accepted ú5,000 whilst only attending a mere two, three, four and five meetings in the year.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
