Gun Control And Closure Of Palace Of Westminster Shooting Club;amdt. Line 2:

EDM number 1165A2 in 1995-96, proposed by Martyn Jones on 16/07/1996.

leave out from `environment' to end and add `which sadly is not possible simply by banning legal ownership of firearms; supports realistic measures to restrict such legal ownership of direarms to responsible gun users but recognises the value of the sport for the young and disabled who can compete as equals; to this end supports the House of Commons Rifle Club which provides much innocent pleasure for staff of the House; and notes that far from being part of the deplorable trend of American violent gun culture, engendered by US films and television series, the Rifle Club has been an institution of the House since the First World War'.

This is a ammendment to 1165.
