Joseph Curtin And Ruhullah Aramesh
EDM number 1125 in 1995-96, proposed by Diane Abbott on 09/07/1996.
That this House notes the recent Appeal Court decision to free Joseph Curtin because of a procedural error at an Old Bailey trial; notes that Curtin was among a gang of 15 youths who attacked Ruhullah Aramesh, an African refugee, with iron bars, sticks and heavy plastic pipe, leading to Mr Aramesh's death two days later, with him having never regained consciousness; and would support any move for civil proceedings.
This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
