International Festival Of Music

That this House welcomes the 52nd Cheltenham International Festival of Music; considers the festival programme involving performances of music by great Russian composers appropriate in the year when the first democratic presidential elections were held in that country; congratulates the festival organiser Michael Berkeley, Cheltenham Borough Council, the generous sponsors and talented performers for producing a fortnight of stimulating quality music; and hopes the many visitors to the festival events enjoy an uplifting experience at one of the world's premier music festivals.
