Tourism In Banff And Buchan

EDM number 1090 in 1995-96, proposed by Alex Salmond on 02/07/1996.

That this House condemns the recent closures of information centres in Banff and Buchan and the adverse effects this will have on tourism in the area; notes the resignation of the Chairman of the Aberdeen and Grampian Tourist Board in protest at these closures; in particular demands a full explanation of the closure of the local Banff area office; and calls on the Government to provide the assistance necessary to maintain existing tourist facilities.
