Export Of Live Animals For Slaughter

That this House deplores the brutality involved in exporting live animals for slaughter; condemns the statement that action by responsible citizens to prevent such exports from taking place threatens mob rule, and the use by the police of the Public Order Act against those who are moved by conscience to take such action; fully supports those who are taking a principled stand on this question at Brightlingsea and elsewhere; and calls for the immediate introduction of legislation to make such exports illegal.
