Primary Class Sizes
EDM number 956 in 1994-95, proposed by Jimmy Dunnachie on 04/04/1995.
That this House deplores the fact that primary class sizes in the United Kingdom are considerably larger than those in other countries in the European Union; and demands that Her Majesty's Government release immediate funding which will enable local authorities to employ more teachers and so reduce primary class sizes to a level which will enable children in the United Kingdom to realise their educational potential in an environment which is equally conducive to learning as those enjoyed by their other European counterparts.
This motion has been signed by a total of 44 MPs.
